The 28th Amendment National Roadshow

Did you realize that the movement to get a 28th Amendment that corporations are not people and money is not speech is already happening in over 40 states already?

In today's kickstarter telethon video, Michele Sutter from MOVI (Money Out Voters In) talks about the movement for an amendment and The 28th Amendment National Roadshow that is being programmed to travel across the country this year.

Berkeley and UCLA had the Roadshow in April and the stop in Seattle was today (5/3) with Portland tomorrow (5/4).  The goal is to take the Roadshow to 20+ more cities this fall.

A very exciting turn of events happened at the Seattle Roadshow...

When WAmend mentioned they were raising $100,000 for their petition drive effort to get I-1329 on the ballot, one of the audience members offered a matching grant of $50,000!

We were thrilled to see such tangible actions coming out of the Roadshow.  By bringing people together to talk about this issue, change will happen.

I-1329 asks the people of Washington to call for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to reduce the influence of money on elections and government policy.

They need 300,000 signatures by June 25th to get the measure on their November ballot. They already have 65,000.
