JOHN WELLINGTON ENNIS

DIRECTOR

John Wellington Ennis is a filmmaker, activist, and father. His previous films are FREE FOR ALL!: One Dude’s Quest to Save Democracy and the Upright Citizens Brigade‘s Wild Girls Gone, starring Amy Poehler.  Ennis has written for The Huffington Post, The Onion, and Melrose & Fairfax.  He is a co-founder of Video the Vote, a citizen journalism project covering election problems, and is on the board of Public Interest Pictures.  He attended the film schools at New York University and University of Southern California and has taught documentary filmmaking at UCLA Extension.

HOLLY MOSHER

PRODUCER

Holly Mosher is an award-winning filmmaker who brings socially conscious films to the public. After graduating with honors from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Holly produced a number of commercials and feature films.  In 2004 she made her directorial debut with her award-winning documentary, Hummingbird, about two non-profits in Brazil that work with street kids and women suffering domestic violence. Afterwards, she produced two films on the pharmaceutical industry: Side Effects, starring Katherine Heigl, and Money Talks: Profits Before Patient Safety. She co-produced Maybe Baby, and executive produced Vanishing of the BeesFREE FOR ALL!, and Pay 2 Play: Democracy's High Stakes. The second film she directed, Bonsai People - The Vision of Muhammad Yunus, is currently airing on American Public Television.  The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the top up-and-coming independent film producers.

REBECCA LYNN MINKIN

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Rebecca Lynn Minkin graduated cum laude from Florida Atlantic University, where she received the Academic Achievement Award in Creative Writing.  She moved to New York City and established herself in music artist management and concert tour production.  Her former employers include: Cyndi Lauper, Dolly Parton, American Idols Live, Moby, Korn and many more.  Rebecca transitioned into movies by serving as the production coordinator on the Red Bull Air Force full-feature film Human Flight 3D.  Rebecca since founded her company, Becca Lynn Worldwide, for the purposes of producing independent films.

 

VIVIAN UMINO

EDITOR 

Vivian Umino studied theater at Yale University and worked in the Seattle theater scene before eventually morphing to film and graduating with a MFA in Film Directing from UCLA.  Although she initially focused on fiction filmmaking, receiving the prestigious ABC/Disney New Talent Development Grant for her first feature script, “Master Painter,” Vivian soon fell in love with documentary. In addition to editing numerous shorts with subjects such as the bottled water industry and voter disenfranchisement, as well as oral histories of filmmakers that include documentary luminaries Albert Maysles and D.A. Pennebaker, she edited the hour long documentary on renowned stage director Peter Sellars (PBS, 2005) and the voter suppression feature film “Free for All!” Vivian also directed and edited “Beyond Breast Cancer: Stories of Survivors”(2007) for the Susan B. Komen Foundation. Vivian has taught documentary filmmaking at UCLA’s Department of Film and Television, UCLA Extension, and the Art Institute of CA in Los Angeles.
